An diesem Wochenende gab es zwei interessante Termine. Zum einen die Autoschau am Hangar des Paderborner Flughafens und dann am Sonntag ein Oldtimertreffen in Boke.
Die Autoschau war eine Plattform für die regionalen Autohändler, um ihre neuesten Modelle vorzuführen. Zwei hatten auch auch ein Elektroauto dabei. Renault seinen ZOE, bei dem man die Batterien nochmal extra zahlen darf. Kia hat einen Soul gezeigt, der aber schon für einen Kunden reserviert war. Der nächste Kunde müsste dann sechs Monate auf die Lieferung warten, sagte man mir.
Ich habe es nur bis auf den Besucherparkplatz geschafft. Dort stand ich aber genau gegenüber dem Hauptzugang zum Hangar, so dass eigentlich alle Besucher an mir vorbei mussten. Dank des Schmuddelwetters kamen aber nicht viele. Wenn ich in Regenpausen die Motorhaube offen hatte, haben die meisten Passanten gestoppt und versucht herauszufinden, was mit diesem Auto passiert war. Sobald bei Regen die Haube zu war, stand da aber nur ein alter Scirocco, der für Neuwagen-Schaulustige eher uninteressant war.
Ganz anders verlief das Oldtimertreffen am Sonntag. Neugierige Blicke, als ich über das Gelände stromerte, um eine Parkplatz zu finden. Die Motorhaube konnte auch die ganze Zeit oben bleiben, der Regengott war dieser Oldtimer-Veranstaltung gnädig. Ganz unbekannt war das Thema hier nicht, der extra angereiste Käferclub hatte auch schon einen Elektro-Käfer, der aber leider nicht zum Treffen gekommen war. Insgesamt hatte ich hier sehr viele interessante Gespräche und habe viel mehr Leuten die Möglichkeit der Umrüstung zeigen können, als am Tag zuvor auf der Autoschau.

This weekend there have been two interesting events. Firstly, the car show at the hangar of the Paderborn airport and then on Sunday a classic-car meeting in Boke.
The car show was a platform for the regional car dealers to show off their latest models. Two of them also had an electric car there. Renault the ZOE, for which you have to pay a monthly fee for the batteries and Kia has shown the Soul. The show car was already reserved for a client, the next customer had to wait about six months for a possible delivery.
With my Scirocco I made it only as far as the visitor parking lot. But there I found a free slot directly opposite the main entrance to the hangar, so that actually all visitors had to pass me. Thanks to the dreary weather there were not many visitors. If I had the hood open in the rain breaks, most passers-by have stopped trying to figure out what has happened to my car. During the rain showers the hood was closed, then it was just an old Scirocco, which was rather uninteresting for new-cars onlookers.
Quite different was the classic-car meeting on Sunday. Curious looks when I cruised over the area to find a parking space. The hood could stay up the whole time, the rain god was gracious about this event. I met a few people who already knew about 'conversions', the Beetle Club from a nearby city already had an electric member, which has unfortunately not come to the meeting. Overall, I had a lot of interesting conversations here and I was able to show the possibility of 'ev convcersions' to a lot more people than on the previous day at the car show.
